The Apple iPhone 17 has been shown off alongside the new Apple Watch models and AirPods Pro 3. And yes, it finally comes with a 120 Hz screen (complete with ProMotion and everything), years after it debuted alongside the Pro model. And that isn't the only upgrade: its base model now comes with 256 GB of storage instead of the 128 GB found on last-gen models. Otherwise, it is mostly identical to the iPhone 16.
It features the same vertically aligned dual-camera array at the back- a 48 MP primary sensor and a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle lens that can also function as a macro camera. The Dynamic Island is here to stay, and this time, the display has a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. The remappable Action Button and dedicated camera control button are also present.
As is tradition, Apple hasn't specified the iPhone 17's exact battery capacity, merely touting 'all-day' battery life. It is powered by an Apple A19 under the hood, which comes with a six-core CPU and a five-core GPU. The higher-binned A19 Pro is reserved for the iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Thankfully, the iPhone 17 still starts at $799 and will be available for purchase later this month.
