Powkiddy RGB10 Max 3: Cheap retro gaming handheld released with 720p display
Over a month has passed since Powkiddy launched the RGB10 Max 3. Initially, the company only offered the retro gaming handheld for pre-order, with prices ranging between $89.99 and $109.99 depending on whether you choose a secondary Micro SD card. Seemingly, the company has now ended its pre-order period, although it is unclear when this occurred.
At any rate, this should mean that there will be little to no lead time between placing an RGB10 Max 3 order and Powkiddy dispatching it. However, it is worth noting that the gaming handheld is still available in yellow and transparent blue finishes rather than the dark blue, white and transparent orange options that are also shown.
In summary, the RGB10 Max 3 features a Rockchip RK3566 chipset and 1 GB of LPDDR4 RAM, the combination of which should be powerful enough to emulate up to PlayStation Portable (PSP) titles. Additionally, Powkiddy includes a 5-inch IPS display that outputs at 1,280 x 720 pixels, plus a 4,000 mAh battery. Please note that the RGB10 Max 3 will be too weak to emulate games from N64 and PSP libraries at its native 720p resolution. Instead, the device only has enough performance to manage 1x resolution for both systems. Please see Powkiddy's website for more details.
