The Philips Hue Bridge has been updated with software version 1967054020. This is a more minor update, bringing a bug fix to the smart home device, resolving a problem where users could not add a Friends of Hue switch, like the Lutron Aurora Smart Bulb Dimmer Switch (~curr. $39.95 at Amazon).
This latest firmware arrived a couple of weeks after software version 1967054010, which brought general improvements to the system’s performance and reliability. The previous release relating to Friends of Hue accessories was software version 1966117030, which rolled out in September. This brought new abilities to these light switches, allowing users to start or stop a Timer or a Mimic presence automation through these products.
On October 22nd, the Philips Hue team noted that the firmware rollout would begin in the “next few days”; it did not specify the date when all customers could expect to receive the update. Software version 1967054020 should be pushed to the Philips Hue Bridge automatically. If you do not receive the update, check that you have automatic updates enabled in the Hue app by going to Settings > Software update > Automatic update.
