Oukitel OT8 11-inch 2K tablet now available at less than $180
Oukitel's latest tablet has just been made available as a new addition to the thin and light category rather than a successor to the OEM's rugged RT line. The OT8's main selling point is that it offers an "immersive" L1 Widevine streaming experience despite its price-bracket - however, it does so at 1080p rather than its full 2K resolution.
The OT8 also supports a split-screen mode and supports drawing with the stylus that comes in the box, although it might not do either at particular speed thanks to its budget-class Unisoc T606 SoC. Then again, its 8,800mAh battery might indeed sustain that platform for up to 2 days - shame it will also feel like it will be charging for that long with an up-to-18W power brick.
On the other hand, the OT8 may also boost its entertainment capabilities with quad speakers as well as a 3.5mm jack. It also has 256GB of internal storage for easy access to all that media. Then again, 24GB of it is needed to expand its default 6GB of RAM in order to sustain that "up to 30GB" marketing claim.
Then again, there is also microSD card support, although its dual 4G/LTE-capable SIM tray has now been revealed as non-functional in the North American market. The tablet has a camera hump quite like Oukitel's C35 smartphone, although it houses just 1 13MP shooter.
Nevertheless, the OT8 offers the choice of "vivid" purple or green finishes as well as plain gray - all for just $179.99: an offer that might expire about 7 days from its release day of today (January 22, 2024).
