iPad Mini 6: Leak touts the A14 Bionic and a Type-C port for Apple's upcoming smaller tablet
The iPad Mini 6 has reared its head in multiple leaks over the last few weeks. The smaller Apple tablet will succeed the iPad Mini 5 that was released back in 2019, and a new leak from China has now clarified a few key specs of the device.
According to tipster Bored Panda, the iPad Mini 6 will be powered by Apple's A14 Bionic chip. That has been speculated for a while now, as Apple tends to equip devices in this series with last-gen chips. Either way, the A14 remains a very capable chipset, and performance will not be lacking.
The leak goes on to confirm that the iPad Mini 6 will sport a Type-C port, dual speakers, and side-mounted Touch ID. Dimensions are provided as 206 mm x 138 mm x 6.1 mm. The display will be an 8.4-inch one—a tad bigger than the 7.9-inch iPad Mini 5—and will max out at 60 Hz. No surprises there. The iPad Mini 6 will reportedly be available in color options of Silver, Black, and Gold. Launch is scheduled for fall.
