Apple iPhone 13 Pro or iPhone prototype: Leaked images show mystery rose-gold device with huge camera bump
The 2021 iPhones could be upon us by next month, and at this stage there is still some debate just about the name: “iPhone 12S” or “iPhone 13”. While tipsters can’t agree over the name, it is widely expected the Pro variants of the upcoming new Apple iPhones will have much larger camera modules compared to the previous generation. This was already rumored when iPhone 13 case molds were leaked in July, and these two new images of a potential iPhone 13 Pro may have confirmed that rumor.
It’s important to take these iPhone images with a pinch of salt here: Fake pictures of soon-to-be released hot tech products have become more abundant and the source of these purported iPhone 13 Pro images is not a particularly well-known leaker. The original poster, Majin Bu, actually commented that the mystery device could be either a discarded iPhone variant or future Apple product, and regardless of individual opinions of what color the smartphone shown below is, “rose gold” is how it was introduced to the leaker. Interestingly, LeaksApplePro stated back in February that there would be a "dark bronze" color scheme for the Pro models only.
It was a more well-known tipster, DuanRui, who asked if this was the iPhone 13 Pro on show here. While some Twitter users have argued that it is actually an iPhone 12 Pro or iPhone 12 Pro Max, others have offered up comparisons based on the size of the camera housing. Clearly, the “rose-gold” iPhone in the two images has a camera bump that exceeds the halfway point of the Apple logo, while the camera module on the iPhone 12 Pro models is a little smaller. The Apple iPhone 13 is rumored to launch in the third week of September.
