Apple iPad mini 6 leaks again with a tweaked design compared to the iPad Air 4
Apple has not refreshed the iPad mini for a while, and it has not released a new model since 2019. However, there are rumours that the sixth-generation edition will be an overhaul for the series. Now, @xleaks7 and Techordo have published an aluminium dummy model of the iPad mini 6, showcasing its design and proportions.
Seemingly, the pair has based the design on other leaked designs, which we have reported previously. As expected, the iPad mini 6 is shown with a single rear-facing camera and uniformly thin display bezels. In short, the iPad mini 6 resembles the iPad Air 4 that Apple announced last year.
However, @xleaks7 and Techordo echordo allege that Apple has moved the volume buttons to the top of the compact tablet, unlike on the iPad Air 4. DuanRui speculates that moving the volume buttons makes room for the Apple Pencil, which makes sense. The iPad mini 6 is believed to support Touch ID via its power button, though, mirroring its larger sibling.
Unfortunately, a release date for the iPad mini 6 remains unknown. Apple may announce the tablet alongside the iPhone 12S/13 series, which is expected to arrive in September. Regardless, we imagine that the iPad mini 6 will follow its predecessors in launching with a last-generation SoC, such as the A14 Bionic.
