With Apple seemingly preparing a number of upcoming high-profile product launches, there’s no surprise that concept renders of the expected devices have started springing up at a higher frequency. Fan-made concept renders of the Apple iPad mini 6 have surfaced before, but these latest efforts by Michael Ma (via Behance) get up close and personal with the tablet. In fact, the well-crafted images of the iPad mini 6 may leave many hoping that this is what Apple’s purported redesign of the device is all about.
There’s a look at every edge and side of the iPad mini 6, and there are renders showing the Apple Pencil (3rd Generation) in action. According to the designer, the Pencil can be attached to the Apple iPad mini 6 via magnetic connection, and it charges wirelessly. Touch ID is also highlighted here and is present in the power button while the tablet is compared to a smaller-scale iPad Air. The images are highly detailed (see below) and the iPad mini 6 looks particularly striking in a range of colors that includes green and sky blue.
It’s rumored the iPad mini 6 might be launched in late September or early October, and there are rumblings that it will feature a mini-LED panel as part of its major redesign over the iPad mini 5 predecessor. We recently reported that the tablet could come with a USB Type-C port and an A14 Bionic chip, but there has been mention of both the A15 and the older Apple A13 processors in connection with the iPad mini 6, too. As for price, Apple has consistently released its iPad mini devices at starting prices of US$399, so the same amount might be asked for once again with the iPad mini 6 base model.
