Fortnite now supports Bluetooth controllers on Android and iOS

The mobile versions of Fortnite (those that work on the Android and Apple platforms) now allow the use of Bluetooth controllers rather than on-screen controls. This new level of support comes with the 7.30 patch update, which also adds the 60Hz support for select Android devices. It also offers the Chiller grenade, a new, seasonal, ranged weapon.

Fortnite can now support the use of Bluetooth controllers on its versions for either iOS or Android. Presumably, any controller can be used on Android, although the company did mention some by name, including the Steelseries Stratus XL, Moto Gamepad and Razer Raiju. Thsoe who play on iPads or iPhones may need an MFi-certified model such as the Gamevice controller. Fortnite will also disable the normal mobile-device vibrations if a gamepad is attached.

This new option is accessed by updating the Fortnite app to the patch level v7.30. This update also finally unlocks support for 60Hz on certain Android devices. Therefore, those who own the Honor View 20, the Huawei Mate 20 X or the US version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 can now enjoy the game with this new refresh-rate setting.

v7.30 for Fortnite on Mobile also adds the Chiller Grenade, a new, winter-themed ranged asset. It can cause an opponent to slide around uncontrollably on impact. Epic Games has also announced that all weapon spawns will be legendary, and all associated matierials will be increased, on a temporary basis under the new patch.
