Xiaomi Redmi Note 17 Pro Max to surpass Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus globally with massive battery upgrade

The Redmi Note 17 series is gradually taking shape. For context, initial mentions about Xiaomi's next mid-range smartphone series first surfaced in March. At the time, it appeared that the company was working towards delivering three models, including the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max.
About a month later, the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) confirmed that Xiaomi was also working towards releasing the Redmi Note 17 series globally. Then a few days ago, Digital Chat Station alleged that at least one of these smartphones would feature a '10,000mAh-level super-large battery'. Now, Kacper Skrzypek and PaperKing13 have discovered references to such a device in HyperOS code.
Embedded below, both leakers observe that a device with the codename 'Q16U' has been assigned a 10,100 mAh battery that supports 100 W wired charging just like the rumoured Xiaomi 17T Pro. However, this battery capacity is only true for the Q16U in China. According to the pair, the device will drop to a 9,210 mAh battery elsewhere, albeit while retaining 100 W charging capabilities. Based on previous leaks, 'Q16U' represents the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max rather than the Redmi Note 17 or Redmi Note 17 Pro.
In other words, the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max should surpass the Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus (curr. $465 on Amazon) globally with a circa 42% battery upgrade. The former will enjoy around a 44% larger battery capacity than the latter in Xiaomi's home market, though. Currently, it is unclear when the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max will launch in China, let alone in other markets.
