Leaker Abhishek Yadav has shared early insights into the state of the Poco F8, just after Xiaomi released the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max in China. For context, Xiaomi introduced the Poco F7 months after the Poco F7 Pro and Poco F7 Ultra (curr. $767 on Amazon).
According to Yadav, the Redmi K90 could provide an early look at the Poco F8 when the former debuts in China. Currently, the Redmi K90 is expected to debut alongside the Redmi K90 Pro before the end of the year, with the latter likely adopting Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. By contrast, Yadav believes that Xiaomi will turn to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 for the Poco F8 as a replacement for the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 that underpins the Poco F7.
Going off their model numbers, the Redmi K90 will possibly arrive next month in China. Writing on X, Yadav adds that Xiaomi has assigned 2510DRK44C to the Redmi K90, with 2510DRK44G and 2510DRK44I serving as the global and Indian variants of the Poco F8, respectively. Both developed under the codename 'annibale', the Redmi K90 and Poco F8 are also expected to feature 100 W wired charging, which would be a 10 W or 9% increase on the Poco F7. Unfortunately, it remains to be seen when Xiaomi will begin selling the Poco F8 in India or in other markets outside of China, though.
