Xiaomi debuted the Xiaomi 17 series in China days ago as its newest flagship offerings. The vanilla Xiaomi 17 model is expected to make its way to the global market in a matter of months, and a new leak has now revealed info on the phone's battery specs.
As spotted on a Mi code database, the vanilla Xiaomi 17 will launch globally featuring a 6,330 mAh battery. That's admittedly a tad disappointing since the Chinese version of the compact flagship phone is equipped with a 7,000 mAh battery. It's not unexpected, however, as Xiaomi has taken to releasing its global models with smaller batteries than their Chinese counterparts, likely due to differences in chemistry.
That said, the Xiaomi 15 launched globally with a 5,240 mAh battery and the jump to a 6,330 mAh unit would represent a significant 20% increase in capacity—even though the newer phone maintains identical measurements as its predecessor. Theoretically, a 6,330 mAh battery on the Xiaomi 17 would also mean the compact phone features the largest battery of its peers on the global market. Pending the potential release of the OnePlus 15T, at least.
