Global Poco F8 Ultra once again tipped to feature flagship-level camera setup

Xiaomi has released the first Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 phone lineup, the Xiaomi 17 series, and now, it's gearing up to launch an affordable flagship lineup, the Redmi K90 series. The Redmi K90 Pro, in particular, is expected to launch in the global market as the Poco F8 Ultra, and a recent leak has already suggested that it will feature a high-end rear camera setup.

Now, Digital Chat Station, a reliable Weibo leaker, has reiterated the camera specs of the Redmi K90 Pro. Per the leak, the global Poco F8 Ultra will feature a periscope telephoto camera, which was previously reported to be the Samsung Isocell JN5 sensor. This is a 1/2.76-inch camera with a 50 MP resolution, which was also present in the F7 Ultra (256 GB curr. $762.50 on Amazon).

However, the Poco F8 Ultra is rumored to utilize it with a periscope lens. This should result in a higher optical magnification range than the 2.5x zoom found in its predecessor. Digital Chat Station hints that this periscope telephoto sensor will be paired with a 50 MP primary camera featuring a 1/1.3-inch sensor size, which is larger than the main sensor of the predecessor. It was previously reported to be the OVX9500 sensor.

As for the ultrawide, a previous report from XiaomiTime suggested that it would be the OV50M sensor. It's also a 50 MP camera with a 1/2.88-inch sensor size, which would stand as a noticeable upgrade over the 1/3.42-inch 32 MP ultrawide found in the Poco F7 Ultra.

Digital Chat Station further hints that the Poco F8 Ultra might have support for telephoto macro. This feature allows close-up shots of objects without needing to get close to them. Xiaomi has yet to share official details about this upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 flagship, but the Redmi K90 Pro is expected to launch later in October 2025.
