The best smartphones of spring 2025 - Comparison of 23 reviewed phones

A total of five smartphones were able to secure a "very good" rating in the last three months. These include a welcome returnee that is now easier to get in Central Europe, two very interesting high-end smartphones that are only available via import at the time of writing, a gaming phone, and the new edition of a high-quality flagship that has been challenging the more established manufacturers for several years.

The highest-rated model last quarter was the Xiaomi 15 Pro, which is not officially available in Central Europe. The easiest way to get it is from TradingShenzhen, where it costs just over 800 euros, and customs formalities are also facilitated.

The import may be worthwhile, as the Xiaomi 15 Pro is equipped with the very powerful yet efficient Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite. You also get a very bright display and long runtimes.

In 2nd place, we have the Asus ROG Phone 9 Pro, which was specially designed for mobile gaming. The display supports a refresh rate of up to 185 Hz, and customizable touch triggers are located at the top of the smartphone. The performance is top-notch, and the phone can withstand immersion in water thanks to IP certification. However, just under 1,300 euros at amazon.de is a hefty price.

The Honor Magic7 Pro also offers plenty of power, great cameras, and 3D face recognition, which is unique among Android smartphones and can be used to unlock secure apps. You are guaranteed 5 years of updates, but the heat management of the very powerful SoC could be better. The smartphone costs just under 1,230 euros at saturn.de at the time of writing.

The Xiaomi 15 is not yet available in Europe, but those who are impatient can purchase it as an import from TradingShenzhen. This may be worthwhile for fans of compact yet powerful phones: It is currently one of the fastest Android smartphones with a very bright display and great runtimes.

The OnePlus 13 has also earned a "very good" rating. It is now readily available in Central Europe and costs just under €1,150 at amazon.de, making it slightly cheaper than other flagship phones. The powerful SoC sometimes throttles under load, but the long runtimes, great display, and good cameras make up for this.
