Reviews for the Sony Xperia 10 II
The Sony Xperia 10 II is an attractively priced smartphone that stands out from the crowd in terms of design. We definitely appreciate some of the features in the Xperia models, but we are disappointed once again with other points. Our review shows what these are and where the Sony smartphone's strengths lie.

The Sony Xperia 10 II is an attractive phone, with its design easily the main appeal. The 21:9 is a handy treat for those who like the novelty of Android multitasking and widescreen content. However, sub-par performance, a middling screen and disappointing camera features leave the door open for stronger rivals to nab your cash.

For RM1,799, there are so many other better options out there. There’s the OnePlus Nord, a discounted Poco F2 Pro, the Poco X3 NFC, and if you’re lucky, a discounted Mi 10! Plus, there’s the Mi 10T series that just launched which also outpaces the Xperia 10 II. The only thing it has up its sleeve that the other phones don’t have is IP68 water resistance, but is that really enough for you to put up with everything else this phone falls short in?

Sony's mid-range phone offers some unique features in its compact format and it has a high quality IP-rated (water-resistant) design. It's paired with reasonable hardware and battery, while the software is pretty clean. But it's overpriced for the hardware you get and the camera experience just isn't competitive.

Overall, this phone may not be the best option for gamers and mobile photography enthusiasts. But if you like the extra advantages and having a phone that's slim, lightweight, and easy to use then it's not a bad option.

For it’s asking price of RM1,799, some people may feel like it’s too high and it’s hard to argue with that. I will however say that I’ve pretty much enjoyed my experience with the device itself, especially with its design, smooth UI, and watching videos on its 21:9 OLED display.

The Sony Xperia 10 II is a mid-ranger with unique talents. If you're after an affordable phone with a 21:9 OLED display and/or IP65/68 water and dust resistance in a svelte, stylish design, the 10 II is for you. It can't, however, compete on matters of processing, battery or camera performance when placed against rival devices from the likes of Realme and Xiaomi.

If you value practical design, practical features, and a high-quality display to go with the whole package, the S$569 Sony Xperia 10 II could be a viable option. It's a very good backup phone to have given the core functionalities are all intact. If you're used to other mid-range or flagship smartphones from last year's releases, you might have to look elsewhere for an affordable daily driver that feels seamless enough for use.

The Sony Xperia 10 II offers a great media-viewing experience for around £319 / $399, courtesy of its super-wide OLED display. It doesn’t excel in any other regard, and you can get faster phones with better cameras for the money. But it’s an all-round solid option with few glaring compromises.

The Xperia 10 II is one of the more interesting devices to come out of 2020 so far. It's both weird and oddly encouraging that it can co-exist on the same constantly-changing market as the new wave of foldable display handsets. There's nothing better for the consumer than to be spoilt for choice. Even if the onslaught of new offers can get a bit overwhelming.

If you want a phone that looks like a flagship but doesn’t cost an arm and a leg, you’ll love the Sony Xperia 10 II. The Omnibalance design is back and there are no notches or cutouts in the gorgeous 6-inch OLED screen of this device. With its decent triple camera system on the back, the Xperia 10 II stands tall, in every possible meaning (metaphorically and literally), and shows what a mid-ranger phone should be.

It is a very small display format for smartphones. You should by no means be mis-sighted and you will generally see very little on the screen and only have a small resolution available. In return, the device should be very small and handy.

70.15%: This rating is poor. More than three quarters of the models are rated better. That is rather not a purchase recommendation. Even if verbal ratings in this area do not sound that bad ("sufficient" or "satisfactory"), they are usually euphemisms that disguise a classification as a below-average laptop.
