Reviews for the Vivo V20 SE
Source: Phone World
After reading my review, you really want to give Vivo V20 SE a try. Overall, the phone has many astonishing features at the price of Rs. 45,999. If the price is a bit high from your budget, then there are many other options available in the market under 30k. But obviously, you have to compromise with some specs.

The strengths of the Vivo V20 SE lie in its design, good viewing experience and to some extent even in the camera output. The one aspect where we wished the company had not compromised was the processor. Overall, however, with the Vivo V20 SE, the company has offered a reasonably good device with a good camera and display experience.

Yes, there's a price difference of about Rs 4,000 between the two phones, but in our opinion that's a fair enough trade for the improved performance and extra features you get with the V20. However, if that phone's over your budget, then we suggest skipping on buying the V20 SE altogether.

Vivo released a new smartphone called Vivo V20 SE which acts as a smaller brother to the Vivo 20. Both the devices have a price difference of Rs 4,000 but is the cheaper V20 SE worth it?

The Vivo V20 SE should have been called the V20 Lite, considering that Vivo has watered down the specifications quite a lot to target a lower price point. Just like the Vivo V20, this phone focuses on design and cameras, so if you are looking for decent camera performance at around the Rs. 20,000 price point, the Vivo V20 SE can offer you that. On the other hand, if you are looking for a well-rounded smartphone, the V20 SE isn't your best bet. It sports a weaker processor, which is evident when playing heavy games. In this case, the Realme 7 Pro (Review) and the Poco X3 (Review) would be suitable alternatives.

Overall, just like the V20, the V20 SE also strongly focuses on design and camera performance as mentioned, and does well in both these aspects. If you’re not looking for a phone that’s too tech-centric or heavy on specs and just want a pretty phone that does the job, this is the one! Not to forget, you’re sorted with amazing photo or video content for the gram cause the selfie camera is the best feature of the V20SE.

On the camera front there is a 48-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera that is also capable of macro shots, and a 2-megapixel depth camera. The hardware is a bit of a downgrade compared to the Vivo V20, which had a 64-megapixel primary sensor. The V-series is known for its selfies, and the V20 SE packs a 32-megapixel selfie camera which seems to be good for the price.

As the most affordable phone under the V20 series, vivo packed a number of compelling features to the V20 SE. Fast 33w wired charging, consistent camera performance from its 48-megapixel rear camera, and a proven, tried-and-tested AMOLED display make the phone punch above its weight class. FunTouchOS gets its biggest (and best) makeover so far, but vivo can still improve on it by addressing some glitches and missing features.

Qualcomm Adreno 610: Integrated (in the Snapdragon 665) graphics card based on the Adreno 600 architecture. The performance of the GPU is between the Adreno 510 and 512/612 and therefore in the lower mid range. Supports DirectX11_1, Vulkan 1.0, OpenCL 2.0, OpenGL ES 3.2.
Only some 3D games with very low demands are playable with these cards.

SD 665: Fast mid-range ARM SoC with 8 CPU Kryo 260 cores (four fast 2 GHz Cortex-A73 cores in a cluster and two power saving 1.8 GHz Cortex-A53 cores) and a rather slow Adreno 610 GPU. Manufactured in a 11 nm LPP process.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.

It is a small display format for smartphones. You shouldn't be severely defective in vision, and you won't see much detail on the screen and only have a small resolution available. For that, the device should be small and handy, easy to transport.
» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.72.83%: This rating is poor. More than three quarters of the models are rated better. That is rather not a purchase recommendation. Even if verbal ratings in this area do not sound that bad ("sufficient" or "satisfactory"), they are usually euphemisms that disguise a classification as a below-average laptop.
