Reviews for the Honor X7c

For a smartphone priced at PHP8,999, the HONOR X7c offers decent gaming performance for casual players. While it’s not a powerhouse, it handles light to moderate games well. Plus, the sturdy build quality adds value. For those interested in heavier titles, however, it may be worth investing in a higher-priced model for an improved experience.

The Honor X7c is an interesting offering in the sub-25k bracket with a spotlight on durability and splash resistance. It’s got superb battery life, a good-looking design, and surprisingly appealing selfies. Moreover, the software is clean and light and the Snapdragon is a reliable everyday performer. Even bits and pieces like stereo speakers, and 35W fast charging are good offerings for the price. But ultimately the 720p LCD screen lets the X7c down. Despite its high refresh rate, the low res screen is just subpar compared to most competition. So relative to the Honor X7c, something like the Redmi Note 13 (review) or the upcoming Note 14, Realme’s 12X, are better overall options for the price.

Overall, the HONOR X7c is priced at PHP8,999 for the 8GB plus 256GB configuration and is a solid entry-level device with an impressive design and, most importantly, a durable build quality. I recommend taking care of your devices since they can still break. It is quite a bummer since it only comes with an HD+ display. It’s not a bad thing, though. It’s just that most consumers are used to having a high-resolution smartphone.

The HONOR X7c is a budget-friendly smartphone that surely offers a unique blend of durability and decent performance, priced at just PHP 8,999. Its IP64 rating and rugged design make it a reliable choice for those who are often outdoors and may encounter sudden downpours. While the X7c might not be a powerhouse in terms of raw processing and camera performance, it delivers a solid user experience, thanks to its clean software and long-lasting battery life. One major downside for me is its display, especially considering that other brands have already released budget phones with Full HD+ and even AMOLED screens. But for the most part, the HONOR X7c is definitely a step up from the usual budget offerings out there in the sub-10K peso price range.

Beyond getting better durability with its IP64 rating, the HONOR X7c proves to be a budget phone that can last you (almost) forever with a stellar battery life that’s arguably one of the best we’ve seen on an under Php 10k device this year. The lower display resolution and the omission of the ultra-wide camera might turn off some, but we’re glad to see the main camera get improved post-processing performance.

Qualcomm Adreno 610: Integrated (in the Snapdragon 665) graphics card based on the Adreno 600 architecture. The performance of the GPU is between the Adreno 510 and 512/612 and therefore in the lower mid range. Supports DirectX11_1, Vulkan 1.0, OpenCL 2.0, OpenGL ES 3.2.
Only some 3D games with very low demands are playable with these cards.

SD 685: Fast mid-range ARM SoC with 8 CPU Kryo 265 cores (four fast 2.8 GHz ARM Cortex-A73 based cores in a cluster and four power saving ARM Cortex-A53 based cores at 1.9 GHz) and a rather slow Adreno 610 GPU. Manufactured in 6 nm and according to Qualcomm around 15% more CPU performance and 10% more GPU performance compared to the old SD680 (thanks to higher clock speeds).» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.

It is a small display format for smartphones. You shouldn't be severely defective in vision, and you won't see much detail on the screen and only have a small resolution available. For that, the device should be small and handy, easy to transport.

In 2014 Huawei created the sub brand Honor and offers certain smartphone series under this name. Occasionally the products are also called Huawei Honor.
The market share of Honor products is manageable, but there are several reviews on Honor smartphones with average ratings (as of 2016).
77.67%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
