Sony PS5 Pro revealed in unboxing and teardown, and updates for over 50 games confirmed
The Sony PlayStation 5 Pro will start shipping on Thursday, November 7. Those who want to know more before the launch can now view the contents of the box in an unboxing video from Digital Foundry (embedded below). Sony appears to be once again using packaging similar to the PlayStation 5 Slim. In addition to the console, Sony also includes a USB-C to USB-C cable, an HDMI 2.1 cable and a DualSense controller, but the vertical stand must be purchased separately if required.
After just under ten minutes, the video shows a size comparison between the new PS5 Pro, the PS5 Slim and the regular PlayStation 5, followed by a comparison with the launch version of the PlayStation 2. The video also shows the specifications of the PlayStation 5 Pro, which are shown in the console's user manual. According to this, the PS5 Pro offers a nominal GPU performance of 16.7 TFLOPs, 16 GB of GDDR5 and an additional 2 GB DDR5 RAM as well as support for Wi-Fi 7. The maximum power consumption is 390 watts.
