PlayStation 5 Pro: Sony's Pro version of the PS5 goes on general sale without stock shortages
Sony has started shipping PlayStation 5 Pro (PS5 Pro) units to those who placed pre-orders. To recap, the company started accepting orders on September 26, just over a fortnight after it officially announced the console. Encouragingly, it still remains possible to order the PS5 Pro globally, even at the time of writing.
Thus, it seems that Sony's latest console is not experiencing any of the stock issues that occurred with the original PS5. For context, it remained difficult to order the PS5 in most cases until roughly this time last year. Similarly, the same is true of the PS5 Pro 30th Anniversary Edition, which some scalpers attempted to sell for upwards of $35,000.
By contrast, the PS5 Pro can be picked up from Amazon, Best Buy, Sony and others in the US for $699 with short lead times. With that being said, Sony is only offering one console per order at the moment. For some reason, the same cannot be said for the PS5 Pro's disc drive, which should retail for $79. Unfortunately, it is unclear when this accessory will be readily orderable again.
