Signify releases new larger update for Philips Hue devices
Signify has issued an update for the Philips Hue Secure cameras. Software version 1.2.10 (650010) is suitable for models like the Secure battery camera and the Secure wired camera with desktop stand. The update brings a range of improvements to the security cameras.
For example, version 1.2.10 resolves a problem where motion events were incorrectly tagged as vehicle-related. Signify suggests that it has made the transition to night vision mode smoother, shortened the start-up time for live view and enhanced the way clips are captured. The Wi-Fi set-up process for new devices has been improved, as has the procedure for a firmware update. Another change is for the default sensitivity when detecting objects, though the notes do not indicate whether this has been increased or decreased. Plus, optimizations have been made to the sleep mode of the battery camera.
The Secure cameras 1.2.10 (650010) update should be automatically pushed to eligible devices when connected to Wi-Fi. Signify notes that the latest software does not rely on updates for other linked gadgets like a Philips Hue Bridge. Another recent update from the brand is rolling out to the Philips Hue app, version 5.12.0. Here, the change log states that the company has fixed many bugs and improved the app’s stability.
