A new rumour about the launch titles for the PlayStation 5 has been circulating online. The list looks similar to one posted on Pastebin a few months ago but with one triple-A addition and one notable absentee. Still, Gran Turismo 7 in 8K would be epic, right?

Rumours about what games the PlayStation 5 will launch with has been doing the rounds again, this time shared by YouTuber Shirrako. The channel, which has over 864,000 subscribers and usually shares gameplay videos, also has an accompanying Twitter account, where Shirrako posts leaks and rumours about upcoming games and consoles.

One recent post about possible launch titles for the PlayStation 5 has gained plenty of attention, mainly because it looks suspiciously like the Pastebin post about the same topic that we reported on in April. According to the post, Sony still plans to launch Gran Turismo 7 with its upcoming console, which will be one of the early highlights of the PlayStation 5. Shirrako claims that Sony has showcased GT7 in 8K at 120 FPS, although we are highly suspect of this assertion. The PlayStation 5 is likely to support HDMI 2.1, which can only output content in a maximum of 8K at 60 FPS or 4K at 120 FPS. Hence, it appears more probable that GT7 will run in those resolutions and framerates, instead. Please see below for the full list of rumoured launch titles:

  • Assassin's Creed Valhalla
  • Battlefield Bad Company 3
  • CoD Black Ops 5
  • Ghost of Tsushima (remastered)
  • Gran Turismo 7
  • Harry Potter
  • Horizon 2
  • The Last of Us 2 (remastered)
  • PUBG Remaster

Look familiar? Shirrako has replaced GTA VI with Black Ops 5, but the list is identical to the one posted on Pastebin. The similarity between the lists could suggest that these games are likely to launch alongside the PlayStation 5 next year, although it would not be that far-fetched to assert that Shirrako has taken inspiration from the Pastebin post. The jury will be out until late 2020, likely November according to previous reports.
