GTA V is onto its third generation of consoles, with Rockstar Games having first released the game on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2013. The company then optimised the game for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, which it is repeating for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
While it is unclear what changes Rockstar Games has made for the Xbox Series X version, the company has offered a glimpse of the optimisations that it has made for the PS5 edition. On the one hand, GTA V will benefit from improved rendering distances on the PS5, although perhaps not beyond what the PC version can already offer. On the other hand, the PS5 edition of GTA V will receive a resolution bump, allowing gamers to experience the game even more clearly than they already can on current-gen consoles.
Rockstar Games has also made other improvements, including new activities, vehicles and weapons, along with expanded wildlife, denser traffic and an overhauled vegetation system. Moreover, the 'new' GTA V will sport better damage and weather effects, which should make the game feel more immersive.
However, GTA V and GTA Online will not be launching until 2021. Rockstar Games is yet to announce a specific release date, although this will probably apply to when the game will land on the Xbox Series X, too.
