NVIDIA DLSS is coming to Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online
Rockstar has announced its next major update for Red Dead Redemption 2, which it will distribute across multiple platforms. The update adds Red Dead Online: Blood Money, an expansion that focuses on the 'burgeoning criminal underworld' in Saint Denis. Blood Money involves Guido Martelli, an underboss of Angelo Bronte, a recurring character in Red Dead Redemption 2.
However, the update also brings NVIDIA DLSS support to the triple-A title. Rockstar has not offered many details on DLSS in Red Dead Redemption 2, so it is unclear if this version 2.0 or 2.2 of NVIDIA's super-sampling technology. DLSS provides up to 50% better framerates in Rainbow Six Siege, so it will be interesting to see what advantages the super-sampling technology brings to Red Dead Redemption 2. DLSS 2.2 reduces visual artefacts and improves image quality compared to DLSS 2.1, also.
Nonetheless, DLSS will be available on Red Dead Redemption 2 from July 13. DLSS will work in Red Dead Online, too. Unfortunately, Rockstar has not stated if it plans to support FidelityFX Super Resolution, AMD's DLSS equivalent, in Red Dead Redemption 2 any time soon.
