Described as "the largest and most ambitious Grand Theft Auto Online adventure to date," The Cayo Perico Heist is also the first of its kind that can be played without any companions from start to finish, although the player can also choose to team up with one or two companions.

Although GTA Online has been around since the first day of October 2013 and has received multiple post-release content packs, the latest such update is apparently the most generous one released so far. The first "heist" missions arrived in 2015, and now the time has come for The Cayo Perico Heist to enter the scene.

According to Rockstar Games, "Your journey begins with an introduction to a new contact found at the Los Santos nightlife scene’s latest attraction…" and the highlights of this journey include the following:

  • The ability to play the entire adventure solo or to team up with up to three other players.
  • The Kosatka decommissioned nuclear submarine as headquarters.
  • New music via three new radio stations, namely K.U.L.T. 99.1 FM, Worldwide FM, and FlyLo FM.
  • New vehicles and weapons, including a bullpup-style military rifle and the Annihilator Stealth helicopter, patrol boats, and more.

Just as the other content updates for the online component of Grand Theft Auto V, The Cayco Perico Heist comes for free to all platforms, starting with the venerable PlayStation 3 and going all the way to the Xbox Series X | S and the PlayStation 5.
