OnePlus Pad 5G: Pricing and specifications emerge for upcoming Android 12 tablet
OnePlus has finally confirmed a global launch date for the OnePlus 10 Pro, its only flagship smartphone released this year. However, the company may be close to releasing the OnePlus Pad, a tablet that will compete against the likes of the Galaxy Tab S8 series, the Xiaomi Pad 5 and the upcoming Vivo Pad.
While OnePlus has not confirmed that this is the case, Mukul Sharma claims that OnePlus has started producing the OnePlus in Europe and other markets. Typically, OnePlus announces devices in China first before bringing them to other countries a few months later. This may be true of the OnePlus 10 Pro, is not the case with its budget and mid-range handsets like the Nord N100 and Nord N200.
Separately, @Shadow_Leak has provided several specifications for the OnePlus Pad, which they imply will carry a '5G' moniker. According to the leaker, the OnePlus Pad 5G will debut with a 12.4-inch OLED display that has a 1080p resolution. For some reason, @Shadow_Leak has not mentioned the display's refresh rate, but they add that the tablet has a 10,090 mAh battery that supports 45 W charging, an 8 MP front-facing camera and dual rear-facing sensors that output at 5 MP and 13 MP, respectively.
Additionally, the OnePlus Pad 5G is rumoured to launch with Android 12 and a Snapdragon 865. For reference, OnePlus equipped the OnePlus 8 series with the Snapdragon 865 that it launched throughout 2020. Presumably, OnePlus will use the newer Snapdragon 870 instead, which is a Snapdragon 865 in all but name anyway. @Shadow_Leak adds that the OnePlus Pad 5G is expected to land for CNY 2,999 (~US$471) with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. It is unclear whether OnePlus will produce other memory configurations at this stage, though.
