OnePlus Nord 2T: Leaked specifications confirm MediaTek Dimensity chipset upgrade and a feature borrowed from the OnePlus 10 Pro
OnePlus may be on the verge of releasing the OnePlus 10 Pro globally, but Yogesh Brar has turned his attention to the Nord 2T instead. According to the leaker, OnePlus will equip the device with a 6.43-inch display, 0.1-inches smaller than the display in the original OnePlus Nord but the same size as the Nord 2. In saying that, the panel remains an AMOLED with a 1080p resolution and a 90 Hz refresh rate, though.
Apparently, the Nord 2T retains its predecessor's cameras too, with a Sony IMX766 serving as its primary camera. Incidentally, OnePlus also uses the 50 MP sensor in the OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9RT and the OnePlus 9 Pro, but as the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro's ultra-wide-angle camera. In comparison, Brar claims that the OnePlus Nord 2T has an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle camera complemented by a 2 MP mono sensor and a 32 MP front-facing camera.
The Nord 2T will stick with most of its predecessor's memory configurations as well. Specifically, the device will arrive with 8 GB and 12 GB of LPDDR4x RAM, plus 128 GB and 256 GB of UFS 3.1 flash storage. For some reason, OnePlus has omitted the 6 GB of RAM option in which it offers the Nord 2. Likewise, the Nord 2T has a 4,500 mAh battery, the same as the Nord 2 and 500 mAh down on the OnePlus 10 Pro.
However, the Nord 2T will support 80 W charging, a feature of the OnePlus 10 Pro. Similarly, the handset will debut with OxygenOS 12 based on Android 12, a logical step on from the Nord 2. Finally, the Nord 2T will rely on the Dimensity 1300, a 5G chipset that MediaTek announced earlier this month. Currently, it is unknown when OnePlus will reveal the Nord 2T. MediaTek has already confirmed Dimensity 1300 specifications though, which you can read about in our corresponding launch article.
