OnePlus is set to launch the OnePlus 10 Pro on March 31. Unlike with previous years where the Pro model sat at the top of the range, OnePlus looks set to launch a OnePlus 10 Ultra this year, likely to compete against phones like the Galaxy S22 Ultra and the upcoming Xiaomi 12 Ultra.
According to reports coming from China, the OnePlus 10 Ultra will be powered by Qualcomm's follow-up to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus. This chipset looks to be identical to the regular Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 on the OnePlus 10 Pro, with the major difference being that it's built on TSMC's node instead of Samsung's.
While the source is cryptic, it appears to indicate that the OnePlus 10 Ultra will be launched in May at the earliest. That makes sense, considering recent reports that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus will launch in May as well. There's not much else revealed about the OnePlus 10 Ultra, other than it will sport a WQHD+ E5 display. That's about expected anyway.
