Long-time fans of the brand OnePlus might be aware of its Lab, an initiative by which the company sources crowd-reviews for new products. These devices are sent to lucky winners of the contest in question ahead of their launch in order to provide a source of advance preview (and, nearly needless to say, hype) for the same on its Community website.
The latest product to be released via this Lab is...you guessed it... the successor to the 9 Pro, the first of its line to have had a China-only debut for the first time, leaving international sales for later in the year. OnePlus has announced that it will pick 10 community members to become testers for this flagship phone (Let's hope none of them are tempted to bend their new free unit).
Those who hope to become such researchers can apply to do so from now via OnePlus' new web-form, which may call for some expertise with device review, camera-work or other media, from now until March 26, 2022. As exciting a prospect as this might be for some, it may also pose a delay for the 10 Pro's launch to the general public.
The OEM had indicated that the phone was to debut in March 2022; however, the Lab process aims to co-ordinate its "unboxing" stage among all testers on the last day of this month. Therefore, unless OnePlus plans to link its international 10 Pro event into this process, the phone may now not launch until April.
