OnePlus has given The Verge an early look at the 7 Pro. However, the outlet has only been allowed to report on one particular aspect of this device. This is the multiple rear camera arrangement that has been alluded to the upcoming phone in earlier leaks. It now appears that one of its modules is a telephoto lens - with 3X optical zoom.
This new level of close-up will be new to the OnePlus flagship line when the 7 Pro launches on May 14, 2019. However, it does not match up to the current level of zoom found in competing flagships, most notably the Huawei P30 Pro, on paper at least. Nevertheless, The Verge has asserted that OnePlus' new camera, found in a ""near final" pre-production model" its reviewers had been given, "closes the gap" on competitors such as the new Huawei.
Another potentially major OnePlus 7 Pro story has also recently broken: the well-regarded leaker IceUniverse claims to have obtained images of this phone's screen protector. This accessory exhibits a very slim bezel on all 4 of its edges, without interruptions for a notch or similar accomodation for sensors. This, then, points to a pop-up selfie camera in this phone (again).
Both of the tipster's new photos show an odd square of material at the top of the protector, which some outlets have interpreted as present for an atypical screen-attachment of some kind. However, it could also be said that this feature is merely a pull-tab for the object's plastic cover.
