Earlier this week, it was revealed that Honor would launch its premium Honor 20 phones at an event in London on May 21. That's just over a month away, which puts us in the endgame, leaks-wise. A new leak has surfaced, showcasing the Honor 20's rear cameras.
Interestingly, the device sports four rear cameras, which likely means it's the Pro model. The Honor View devices have generally been cheaper alternatives to the Mate phones, while the main Honor devices share the same relationship with the Huawei P-series. As such, it isn't surprising to see this device with four rear cameras, a setup quite similar to the P30 Pro's.
The quad camera setup has three sensors and a ToF, just like the Huawei P30 Pro. The most interesting part of the image is the top sensor, however. It's square-shaped, which is the tell-tale sign of a periscope lens. The P30 Pro uses a periscope lens to devastating effect, offering 5x optical zoom and 10x hybrid zoom. There's a high chance that technology is also offered on the Honor 20 Pro.
The best part of it all is the price, though. Honor phones are generally a lot cheaper than their Huawei siblings, and the Honor 20 Pro will likely be no different. We expect the regular Honor 20 to start at about US$450, and the Honor 20 Pro to have a base MSRP in the region of US$600. Considering the touted specs of the devices, those price tags would make them the best value flagships on the market.
Of course, the image itself doesn't look particularly authentic, so you'd do well to take all of this with a pinch of salt.
