Details of the Honor 20 surface - 48 MP, triple rear cameras, Kirin 980, 108 DxOMark score
Huawei’s sub-brand, Honor, released its first premium device for the year, Honor View 20, a while ago. The Honor 20 will be the company's next premium phones, and details of the device have now surfaced.
The Honor View and main Honor lines have a relationship that mirrors that of Huawei’s Mate and P series to an extent, and it shows here, as the Honor 20 is said to be loaded with excellent camera hardware. According to the leaks, the Honor 20 features a triple rear camera setup that comprises of a 48 MP + 20 MP + 8 MP combo.
If we were to hazard a guess, we’d say that the camera setup includes the 48 MP Sony IMX586 that was seen on the Honor View 20, a 20 MP monochrome sensor, and an 8 MP telephoto lens. Quite similar to the Huawei P20 Pro’s setup, in fact. There’s also what appears to be line about 3x optical zoom, further buttressing that theory. These cameras will apparently earn the device a DxOMark score of 108, although we’re not sure how that information could be anything other than baseless speculation.
The Honor 20 is said to sport a 6.1-inch FHD+ OLED. An OLED display on an Honor phone is a rare sight, so we’re leery. That's also rather conveniently, the same display on the P20 Pro.
The Kirin 980 mentioned here is just about the only that should be taken as guaranteed. According to the leak, the Honor 20 could see a battery bump over its predecessor, making its way up to a 3650 mAh unit, with Huawei’s 22.5W SuperCharge keeping charge times down.
You'd do well to take all of this with a pinch of salt.
