Well over a year has passed since MSI showed the first Intel Lunar Lake-powered gaming handheld. Not released until the start of 2025, the Claw 8 AI+ (curr. $1,199 on Amazon) remains one of the Lunar Lake-powered handhelds alongside the Claw 7 AI+, the OneXPlayer X1 Air and the forthcoming Abxylute 3D One.
According to VideoCardz, these Lunar Lake handhelds could soon be replaced by Intel Panther Lake successors. Specifically, the website suggests that Intel intends to offer processors with its Arc B380 iGPU for gaming handheld purposes. As we discussed yesterday, X account OneRaichu claims that the Arc B380 contains 12 Xe3 architecture cores backed by a 2.3 GHz boost clock speed.
Unfortunately, it is unclear what name Intel has assigned to this gaming handheld-focused processor. In the meantime, Lonely City Hardware speculates that the Arc B380 could combine 4 Performance, 4 Efficient and 4 Low Power Efficient cores to maximise performance and efficiency. Incidentally, Arc B370 and Arc B390 iGPUs have already been spotted in Galaxy Book6 Pro prototypes.
Undoubtedly, the Arc B380 will perform worse than the Arc B390, given their positions in Intel's product stack. Nonetheless, the latter's recent Geekbench 6 OpenCL score indicates that the Arc B380 will easily outperform the Arc 140V inside the MSI Claw 8 AI+ and other Lunar Lake handhelds. Considering that Samsung is expected to present Panther Lake laptops in January during CES 2026, we would not be surprised to see MSI showcasing a next-generation Claw gaming handheld during the same event.
