While Intel gave us a comprehensive look at Panther Lake earlier this year, important information, such as SKU names and specs, remains shrouded in mystery. Geekbench listings have given us a glimpse into some Panther Lake chips, but some confusion around its naming scheme and specs still lingers.
As anticipated earlier, Panther Lake officially launches at CES 2026. Intel will show off its next-gen Core Ultra 300 laptop silicon on January 5 at 15:00 PST. It will be spearheaded by Jim Johnson, Senior VP and GM of Intel's Client Computing Group.
Based on what we've seen from Intel's own benchmarks and Geekbench listings so far, Panther Lake will bring forth some hefty GPU performance gains. It should ideally outperform Qualcomm's Adreno X2 and the RDNA 3.5 iGPUs found on AMD's Gorgon Point APUs. The CPU side, on the other hand, isn't shaping up to be nearly as impressive.
So far, only the Samsung Galaxy Book6 Pro and Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 have shown up with PTL chips, but more should surface as time passes. This time, some mini-PCs could also go the Panther Lake route, as confirmed by the recently unveiled GMKtec EVO-T2.
