Epson has launched the QS100 4K ultra short throw laser projector in the US. The model was unveiled in December 2024 and has since been released in European countries, including the UK and France.
The QS100 is a home theater projector with a 4K resolution thanks to pixel-shifting technology. The maximum recommended image size is 160 inches (~406 cm), and the throw ratio range is 0.16 - 0.40. This Q-series model also features 3LCD technology for vivid colors, with the laser light source delivering up to 4,500 lumens (color IDMS rate and white ISO rated) brightness. The brand’s QZX Picture Processor is said to optimize contrast, with a 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio, brightness and color accuracy, and there is support for HDR10 and HLG.
Other features of the QS100 include an auto low latency mode (ALLM) and low input lag for gaming. There are ports like two HDMI, USB, LAN and RS-232. Plus, it uses the Google TV interface and has a built-in Yamaha 2.1 channel speaker system. On top of this, the projector can integrate with smart home ecosystems via Crestron, Control4 or PJLink, for remote controls and voice commands.
Epson describes this new Q-series projector as “ultra premium” and says it is designed for use in any living space, not just for home theater rooms. Customers can choose between black and white versions of the model, and the projector comes with a three-year limited warranty. You can now buy the Epson QS100 4K PRO-UHD Laser Projector in the US for $4,999 via authorized Epson dealers like Best Buy.
