Xgimi’s new Play 6 portable smart projector series is about to be unveiled. Two new models have been teased on the brand's social media, building on the Play 5, known internationally as the MoGo 3 Pro, which launched in 2024.
Like their predecessors, the Play 6 projectors have a hidden 360° gimbal stand, allowing you to adjust the projector angle for your wall or ceiling. Xgimi has stated that the new devices are SGS low blue light eye protection certified, though it has yet to confirm other specifications like peak brightness level. As an indication, the Play 5 is a 1080p projector with up to 450 ISO lumens brightness for images up to 120 inches wide.
Xgimi has also confirmed that one model features Harman Kardon speakers, and the other has a sound system from the brand. On top of this, there is integrated lighting for dynamic effects, which can be synced to music. The Play 6 is reported to be the size of a mug while still offering a built-in battery. These models can be transported via a customizable lanyard, with the basic model featuring a carabiner and the version with Harman Kardon speakers also offering a mini remote.
Plus, a hidden page on the iF Design website indicates that the Play 6 may have won a 2025 iF Design Award alongside the Aura 2 projector. Xgimi will launch the new Play 6 projector in China on March 20th, though the company has yet to announce the price. It is also unclear whether or when a version for the international market could arrive. The older Play 5 or Mogo 3 Pro is available in countries worldwide (curr. $449.99 at Amazon).
