It’s unusual for a new Sony OLED TV to experience a discount immediately after launch. However, confronting the LG C6 and Samsung S90H, the Bravia 6 is benefiting from a steep Amazon discount. The 77-inch model with boosted HDMI connectivity is $2198, more than $800 below its release date price.

Both Amazon and Best Buy have also slashed the price of the 65-inch version. The smaller Sony TV is available for around $1700, $300 off the $2000 launch MSRP.

Bravia bonuses

Many buyers gravitate toward Sony TVs because of their superior picture processing. Motion handling is often a notch above competitors, while they effectively upscale older movies and TV shows. That said, the Bravia 6 is missing the high-end XR processor found in the Bravia 8 II.

Early indications suggest the Sony OLED TV featured in this deal won’t match the highest-end models in maximum brightness. Regardless, it should offer the deep blacks that outclass Mini LED technology. Triluminos Pro also promises an expanded color range that suits multiple types of content.

What Smart TV OS is preferable is always up for debate, but Google TV has converted some WebOS and Tizen loyalists. The app selection is top-class, and unlike the S90H, Dolby Vision is supported for Netflix, Disney+, and other streaming services.
