The new Sony Bravia Theatre Bar 6 combines a 37-inch soundbar with a power output of 350 watts and a wireless subwoofer in order to create a 3.1.2-channel audio system. Sony has integrated three forward-facing drivers as well as two upward-firing speakers for a more convincing surround sound.
The Bravia Theatre System 6 consists of a similar soundbar, but in a slightly more compact version that doesn’t come with upward-firing speakers. In return, it features a significantly more powerful subwoofer and two wireless speakers for better surround sound, even though dedicated ceiling speakers for true Dolby Atmos are not included. Nonetheless, the Bravia Theatre System 6 has a remarkable power output of 1,000 watts.
Both Sony soundbars can be hooked up via HDMI eARC, but music can also be streamed wirelessly via Bluetooth 5.3 if desired. Furthermore, a corresponding smartphone app allows users to customize the sound profile and control the home theater systems. Owners of a compatible Sony smart TV, such as the just-announced Bravia 8 II OLED, can seamlessly control the audio system by using their regular television remote and adjusting settings on the screen.
