Sony’s newest mid-range Dolby Atmos soundbars just got a big price cut. Both the Bravia Theater System 6 and Theater Bar 6 are marked down by $200 for a limited time, making it a great time to give your TV setup a serious audio upgrade.

If your TV’s built-in speakers are making movie nights feel a little flat, now’s a great time to pull the trigger on an upgrade. Sony just slashed its latest mid-range Dolby Atmos soundbars by $200, bringing both the Bravia Theater System 6 and Theater Bar 6 down to their lowest prices to date.

The Bravia Theater System 6 (HT-S60) is currently down to $598 at both Amazon and Sony’s official website, a cool $200 off its regular $799 price. For that price, you're getting a 5.1-channel system with a total of 10 speakers. The main soundbar packs three front-firing speakers with a dedicated center channel, and it works in conjunction with two rear surround speakers and a subwoofer to deliver a room-filling audio. Oddly, Sony decided to omit the upward-firing drivers for Dolby Atmos content. Instead, the Theater System 6 relies on the company's Vertical Surround Engine and S-Force Pro Front Surround enhancements to simulate those overhead audio effects.

Maybe a full 5.1 system is overkill for your space. That’s where the Bravia Theater Bar 6 (HT-B600) comes in, and you can snag it for just $498 right now on Amazon (Sony is also matching the deal). This 3.1.2-channel system ditches the rear satellite speakers for a simpler setup, but more importantly, this cheaper model actually includes two dedicated up-firing drivers for a more convincing Atmos height effects. Not to mention, it comes with a wireless subwoofer, so it gives you even more placement flexibility than what's possible with the System 6's wired sub.

If you’re a serious gamer, note that none of these soundbars have a spare HDMI port to plug your console directly—You only get a single HDMI eARC input. Wireless connectivity options are also pretty limited, with Bluetooth being your only option. The lack of Wi-Fi connectivity means you’ll also miss out on niceties like AirPlay, Spotify Connect, and Chromecast streaming.

Sony TV owners will also benefit from a tighter ecosystem integration. On supported TVs, you’ll be able to control surround sound right from your Bravia TV remote. In addition, various sound settings and features like Sound Field, Voice Mode, and Night Mode will automatically appear on the Bravia Quick Settings panel to make your life that much easier.
