Corsair has launched a new portable SSD that's MagSafe compatible, the EX300U. It's available in three storage variants, with the starting option offering 1 TB of storage at $99.99. As for the other two, one of them is a 2 TB model that costs $159.99, while the top-end offering has 4 TB of storage, and it costs $324.99.
Thanks to the MagSafe compatibility, the portable SSD can magnetically attach to the back of select iPhone models (MagSafe silicone case for iPhone 17 Pro curr. $37 on Amazon). The magnetic feature should also work with some of the recently launched Android phones that work with magnetic accessories, and Corsair further highlights that it attaches to metal surfaces.
For connectivity, the Corsair EX300U features a USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 2 port. This allows the portable SSD to offer up to 1,100 MB/sec read and write speeds. The USB-C interface also makes the external storage drive work with most devices out of the box.
The company includes a USB-C to USB-C cable in the box, and one of the ends has a 90-degree angle to make phone connections easy. Another design aspect of the portable SSD is its compact size, with the company claiming that it is small enough to fit in pockets.
Other highlights include shock resistance, a lightweight build, and a 1000 TBW rating for the 4 TB model. The Corsair EX300U is available to purchase on the official store, and the first orders are expected to ship from October 10, 2025.
