The TCL C8K QD-Mini LED TV is about to launch in Europe. This will be the flagship model in the UK, but some markets will also get the recently revealed C9K. It will come in 55-inch, 65-inch, 75-inch, 85-inch and 98-inch sizes.
The C8K shares many similarities with the C9K, including a 4K resolution and a 144Hz native refresh rate. There is also the CrystGlow WHVA Panel with a coating designed to reduce reflections. One difference is the number of local dimming zones, with the 98-inch model offering 3,840 zones. As such, the peak brightness level of this model is lower at 5,000 nits; the C9K is said to deliver up to 6,000 nits peak brightness.
TCL’s C8K runs on Google TV for streaming apps like Disney+ and Apple TV, as well as Chromecast and Apple AirPlay. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth, and a range of ports. Other similarities between the two models include the Game Bar 3.0, Game Accelerator 288Hz, and built-in 6.2.2 channel Bang and Olufsen speakers compatible with Dolby Atmos. The C8K also features the ZeroBorder design with a central wide stand.
