The TCL QM7 65-inch Mini LED QLED 4K TV is on sale at an enticing price. The TV boasts high HDR/SDR brightness and excellent contrast thanks to Full-Array Local Dimming. Additionally, gamers get to enjoy 4K output at @144Hz alongside VRR.

We reported in January of this year that TCL’s mid-range QM7 Mini LED TV in a 65-inch screen size was on sale for $697.99. This was, at the time, the lowest price ever for the TV, making the TCL QM7 an amazing deal.

The TV is now back on sale for an even better price. Amazon has now dropped the 65-inch TCL QM7 Mini LED TV price to just $679. Looking at the TCL QM7’s price history on camelcamelcamel, the TCL QM7 retailed for over $1,000 in Q4 2024. So, the current sales price presents a pretty good opportunity to buy the TV, especially when we look at what the TCL QM7 has to offer (linked at the end).

Per Rtings’ review of the TV, the TCL QM7 boasts superb HDR and SDR brightness thanks to Full-Array Mini LED backlighting. The TV also enjoys excellent native and Local Dimming contrast of 5,651:1 and 135,500:1, respectively. Moreover, the TV also covers more than 90% DCI-P3 while boasting excellent color volume in both SDR and HDR.

Aside from media playback, the TCL QM7 is a pretty good gaming option. With its 144 Hz native refresh rate, support for VRR technologies like AMD FreeSync, low input lag, and a good response time, gamers will find little to complain about.

That said, the TCL QM7 has a few issues that potential buyers need to be aware of.

For starters, the VA panel has just passable viewing angles. So, if you need a TV with excellent viewing angles, you’ll be better served by an OLED display.

Secondly, the TCL QM7 is not accurate out of the box. Users will, therefore, need to manually calibrate the TV if they value color accuracy.

Finally, the TCL QM7 has poor reflection handling. Rtings notes that the TV reflects a lot of light from direct sources. So, the TCL QM7 is not ideal for use in a brightly lit environment.

To sum it all up, if you can live with some obvious downsides listed above, the TCL QM7 makes a lot of sense at the current sales price. It is bright, outputs a colorful picture, and can handle 4K@144 Hz.
