TCL has unveiled the Q9L Pro QD-Mini LED TV in China. It arrived a few weeks after the award-winning Q10L Pro was launched in this market. This model is available in five sizes: 55-inch, 65-inch, 75-inch, 85-inch and 98-inch.
The Q9L Pro TVs have fewer local dimming zones than the equivalent Q10L Pro models and are not quite as bright. The 50-inch variant has 720 zones for a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. Meanwhile, the 98-inch variant has 3,456 dimming zones, and all four of the larger sizes are said to deliver 4,500 nits peak brightness. The 4K display has a native 144Hz rate with a Game Accelerator for up to 288Hz.
Like the Q10L Pro, there is an HVA panel for a native 7,000:1 contrast ratio. TCL’s Q9L Pro has a built-in Onkyo 2.1.2 channel sound system in place of the 2.2.2 channel Bang & Olufsen speakers on the Q10L Pro. Other features include an AI assistant and various ports like four HDMI 2.1 4K@144Hz, USB 3.0 and USB 2.0.
The price of the TCL Q9L Pro QD-Mini LED TV in China ranges from CNY 4,299 (~$592) for the 55-inch model to CNY 16,999 (~$2,342) for the 98-inch version. Whether or when versions of this TV for other markets like North America or Europe could arrive is unclear. TCL recently launched the QM7K QD-Mini LED TV in the US (65-inch curr. $1,199.99 at Amazon).
