Motorola's answer to the Apple iPhone Air and Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge has arrived. Not only is the Moto X70 Air likely to be cheaper than its competitors, but the smartphone also offers a significantly larger battery and a triple camera.

Motorola's ultra-thin Moto X70 Air is finally official. At a height of 5.99 millimeters and a weight of 159 grams, it is only 0.4 millimeters thicker and 5 grams lighter than the Apple iPhone Air. The 4,800 mAh battery is a full 52% larger than the iPhone Air, and can be charged even faster at 68 watts, while wireless charging works at 20 watts.

The housing is IP68 and IP69 certified, meaning the smartphone is waterproof. The Moto X70 Air can also withstand drops relatively well thanks to special glass and an aluminum frame. Housing a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, the device promises the performance of a fast mid-range smartphone. The 6.7-inch display is a P-OLED panel with a resolution of 2,712 x 1,220 and a refresh rate of 120 Hz.

The fingerprint sensor is invisibly integrated into the display. Motorola has installed a 50 MP selfie camera and three rear cameras, each equipped with a 50 MP sensor. The main camera features a relatively large 1/1.4-inch sensor and a lens with optical image stabilization. The Moto X70 Air comes with Android 16, but Motorola has not yet commented on how long the mid-range smartphone will receive software updates.

Price and availability

The Motorola Moto X70 Air will be launched in China on October 31, with a choice of 256 GB or 512 GB of flash storage. Motorola has not yet confirmed any details about the price. The smartphone will be launched in Europe on November 5, but will be called the Motorola Edge 70 there.
