Reviews for the Motorola Moto G85
If you are on the hunt for a super bright OLED screen on a smartphone for around the US$300 mark, then the Motorola Moto G85 may be the phone for you. In addition, it barely has any bezels around its display. But how did the mid-range phone do in our test?

An attractive mid-range device with a premium look and feel, but the Moto G85 5G is ultimately let down by middling performance, average cameras, and lacklustre long-term software support. It’s good, but not the best in its class.

Lastly, the Motorola G85 can be considered a solid choice if you prefer design, display, and beautiful camera results. Besides this, the content consumption is also decent with FHD+ resolution. Although, the phone will struggle to support HDR content in the streaming app. Furthermore, the raw performance doesn’t lack to some of the competitors. However, the device might be a good choice for gamers due to the average GPU and visuals. Still, it’s far better than most of the mid-range phones.

Thin, light, and wonderfully rounded, the Moto G85 5G is a reliable phone for the money without a doubt. But if you’re willing to drop the curved display and brand, you can get more bang for your buck.

You want a big, near-borderless screen on an affordable phone? The Moto G85 beckons. It houses one of the nicest displays you can find from a budget handset. Don’t expect a major difference in app performance from the likes of the G84 or G54, because it’s fairly consistent with previous models. It’s a decent upgrade if you haven’t bought a phone in a couple of years, though. Ultimately, you choose this phone for its screen first, and everything else second. Whether you’re a watcher, a scroller, or a browser, the Moto G85 makes it all look fabulous.

Unboxing Motorola's Moto G85 5G, a UK budget-friendly smartphone sporting upgraded Sony camera tech and long battery life for under £300. That price has crept up vs the G84 but the Motorola Moto G85 is still a respectable stock Android phone, if slightly flawed in some areas. Here's a hands-on review of the gaming, camera and other bits. Gamers will have to keep those graphics settings low as the Snapdragon performance hasn't been boosted since the previous gen.

If you're looking for a smartphone with a curved OLED display and reliable camera performance, it's worth looking at the Moto G85. The phone also offers reliable battery backup and includes useful software features focused on family controls, digital well-being, and multitasking. The bloatware and notification spam is the only drawback on an otherwise decent smartphone that offers good value for money. Other smartphones in the same price segment are equipped with more capable processors that offer better performance, such as the iQoo Z9 (Review), CMF Phone 1 (Review), and the Realme 12 Pro (Review). However, the Moto G85 offers a more versatile camera setup compared to the iQoo and CMF handsets. The Realme 12 Pro has a telephoto camera, but it is slightly more expensive than Motorola's offering.

The moto g85 5G packs premium features at an affordable price, starting with its gorgeous 3D curved pOLED display with 144 Hz refresh rate, its ultra-slim design with vegan leather, impressive Sony camera results, swift Snapdragon processor, and a bunch of moto gestures. It supports 33W fast charging which is sufficient to keep you on the go although some competitors offer faster charging speeds 44W/45W in this budget. At the end, all these features makes the moto g85 5G an excellent choice for those who want reliable performance in a premium design without breaking the bank, the price starts at ₹17,999 or ₹19,999 depending on the variant which can be grabbed with exciting launch offers.

The Motorola G85 is a solid budget smartphone that stands out with its premium design, vibrant display, and decent camera setup. If you frequently consume content on your smartphone, the Motorola G85 is one of my top recommendations under ₹20,000 thanks to its superb display and stereo speakers. However, it does lag behind in raw performance compared to some competitors. So, if top-notch performance is your main priority, you might want to consider alternatives like the Realme P1 or CMF Phone 1. The Motorola G85 is the latest addition to Motorola’s budget-range lineup, promising a blend of premium features and affordability. Starting at ₹17,999, it seeks to stand out in a crowded market, competing with budget contenders like the CMF Phone 1 (review), Realme P1 (review), and OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite (review).

The Moto G85 is currently available in India for an asking price of Rs 17,999, making it slightly difficult to stand up against the recently-launched CMF Phone 1 (review) and camera-focused Realme P1 (review). Both its competitors are more affordable and offer superior performance. The CMF Phone 1 even has a customisable design, whereas the Realme P1’s cameras deliver better daylight performance. The Moto G85 excels in design and display. It is sleeker than many of its competitors and features a pOLED panel that enhances multimedia consumption. The software is relatively clean, offering a near-stock Android experience. Although the cameras may not be exceptional, they offer respectable performance for their price range. Overall, the Moto G85 is a compelling option under Rs 20k.

Qualcomm Adreno 619: Integrated (in the Snapdragon 750G) graphics card based on the Adreno 600 architecture. The performance is a lot better than the old Adreno 612.
Only some 3D games with very low demands are playable with these cards.

SD 6s Gen 3: Mid-range SoC with 8 Kryo 660 cores (two ARM Cortex-A78 based cores with up to 2.3 GHz and 6 ARM Cortex-A55 with up to 2 GHz) and an X51 5G modem. Similar to the older Snapdragon 695 but with higher clocked CPU cores.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.

It is a small display format for smartphones. You shouldn't be severely defective in vision, and you won't see much detail on the screen and only have a small resolution available. For that, the device should be small and handy, easy to transport.

The original company Motorola Inc was split up in 2011. Motorola Mobility got the smartphone division and was taken over by Google in 2012 and Lenovo in 2014.
The company is known for its cell phones and other electronic devices such as smartwatches, tablets and accessories. Motorola was one of the first companies to produce cell phones, and in recent years has also innovated in the areas of 5G technology and modular smartphones (Moto Mods). Motorola is also active in public safety and professional communications, providing solutions for government agencies, businesses and other organizations. The company has operations in North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America and employs more than 10,000 people worldwide.
75.82%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
