LG SC9S and SE6S soundbars with Triple Sound technology now available
LG has announced the launch of the SC9S and SE6S soundbars, designed for use with the brand's TVs. Also known with model numbers USC9S or DSC9S and DSE6S or USE6S, the devices use the company's Triple Sound technology, with the world's first triple up-firing speaker. New Triple Level Spatial Sound provides a cinematic experience, and the Smart Up Mixer can convert two-channel audio into surround sound.
The WOW Orchestra feature balances the sound between the TV's speakers and the soundbar, and WOWCAST enables you to pair the device to other gadgets wirelessly. Both soundbars support Dolby Atmos and DTS:X technology, plus the SC9S is also compatible with IMAX Enhanced for enhanced surround sound. Plus, AI Sound Pro technology optimizes gaming, music, movies or sports audio. The 3.1.3 channel SC9S soundbar with a 400 W output measures 975 x 63 x 125 mm (~38.4 x 2.5 x 4.9-in). The cheaper 3.0 channel 100 W SE6S speaker measures 800 x 63 x 131 mm (~31.5 x 2.5 x 5.2-in).
In the US, you can buy the SC9S soundbar for US$999.99; the release date and MSRP of the SE6S are unknown. Customers in the UK can purchase the SC9S for £999.98 (~US$1,200) and the SE6S for £499.98 (~US$600). In Germany, the DSC9S retails for €1,099 (~US$1,169), and the DSE6S will launch in March for €499 (~US$531). It is unclear in which other European countries the devices will be available.
