The Oukitel WP22 is touted to debut as even more of an 'outdoor' smartphone than others of its IP68/IP69K/MIL-STD-810H-rated ilk thanks to its rear-mounted speaker rated for up to 4W of audio power. It is also backed to drown out the current "loudest" smartphone out there, the Ulefone Power Armor 16 Pro - albeit not by much.
The WP22 is rated for a new top output of 125 decibels (dB), compared to 122dB in the Power Armor 16 Pro. Then again, some consumers might prefer the leather-look material surrounding the contender's new and apparently larger round speaker, which, as with its rivals the 16 Pro and the AGM H5 Pro, is also orbited by massively dwarfed rear camera lenses.
In the case of the WP22, they consist of a 20MP "night vision" camera as well as a 48MP main shooter and a 2MP macro afterthought. There is also a 16MP selfie camera, found in a water-drop notch digging into its 6.58-inch FHD+ 90Hz display driven by the Helio P90 platform, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
These specs will be kept on by a particularly large 10,000mAh battery (rated to last for 52 days under some conditions), and run Android 13 - another area in which the WP22 can set itself apart in a smartphone sector that often lags behind with 12-based ROMs at best.
Prospective buyers can make an order to get blaring audio in their handset from March 20, 2023. The Oukitel WP22 currently has a placeholder price of about US$400 on its AliExpress page - however, an introductory special might bring this cost down to ~US$171 on its launch day.
