Gigabyte Aero 15 Classic integrates Core i9-9980HK, 240 Hz FHD panel, and GeForce GTX 1660 Ti graphics
The Gigabyte Aero 15 has been the manufacturer's most popular 15-inch notebook by far for general users. It makes for an especially good alternative to the Dell XPS 15 series since it can be equipped with more powerful graphics up to the RTX 2080 Max-Q whereas the Dell is limited to the GTX 1050 Ti Max-Q. To leverage its advantage even further, Gigabyte will be updating to the Aero 15 with the unlocked Intel 9th gen octa-core Core i9-9980HK and a Pantone-calibrated Sharp 240 Hz FHD IGZO panel. Gigabyte is promising 25 percent faster CPU performance over the last generation Coffee Lake-H Core i9-8950HK with this latest iteration.
Externally, the Aero 15 Classic will have no major changes when compared to the last year's Aero 15. In this case, the "Classic" moniker is a callback to the original thin and light Aero 15 released back in 2017. All the features of last year's Aero 15 will return to the Aero 15 Classic including the cloud-powered Microsoft Azure AI software.
A less expensive SKU will be made available with "only" the hexa-core Core i7-9750H, LG 144 Hz FHD display, and GeForce GTX 1660 Ti.
Gigabyte has yet to reveal the prices or availability of the Aero 15 Classic. Nonetheless, check out the official landing page here and our reviews on the existing Aero 15 since all models share the same chassis design thus far.
