Garmin has now finalised the latest round of beta development for the Fenix 7 and Fenix 7 Pro, as well as associated smartwatches like the Tactix 7 (curr. $1,149 on Amazon). To recap, the company issued System Software 20.16 under a month ago with over 20 changes to its name.
However, it turned out that this update also introduced new bugs that were not present in old stable updates. In response, Garmin returned to its public Beta Program with the promise of quickly resolving these issues, which included external heart rate sensors failing to automatically connect when starting activities.
This bug and more is now said to be fixed with System Software 20.22, which began rolling out globally yesterday. As usual, the new update will not reach all Enduro 2, Epix 2, Fenix 7 or Tactix 7 smartwatches simultaneously. Instead, Garmin reports that 30% of eligible smartwatches should have received a notification to download System Software 20.22 by now.
