Nullix, a UK start-up, has released some information about its new Lyfe wearable. This display-less device can be worn in two ways and offers a wide range of sensors to track biometrics like heart rate and skin temperature. Plus, the product has a UV sensor, a feature not seen on other health-tracking wearables.

The Nullix Lyfe wearable has been teased ahead of its upcoming Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign. This display-free device comes from a relatively unknown UK-based start-up.  The product is designed to track your health metrics as well as capture information about your environment for more advanced wellness monitoring.

The Lyfe wearable can be worn on the wrist or chest, magnetically attaching to the relevant straps. It has onboard sensors to measure your heart rate, SpO2 level, skin temperature and respiratory rate. Plus, you can use the device to monitor your step count, calories and sleep health. On top of this, the wearable features a UV index sensor, though the associated metrics have yet to be revealed. There is also an ECG snap connector for deeper heart rate and rhythm analysis.

Nullix indicates that the wearable will process 70MB of data on-device each day, suggesting that the lack of cloud syncing enhances privacy. Given that the Lyfe does not have a display, users must connect it to their smartphone, where data and personalized insights are viewable in the accompanying app. Through the app, users can get notifications for unusual biometric measurements, which could be an early sign of illness.

The wearable is said to run for two to nine days on a single charge, recharging via USB-C. Plus, you can save battery by switching off sensors in the app. It is unclear when the Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign for the Nullix Lyfe will launch, with the product expected to cost £169. The company has also announced that users will not need a subscription.
