Garmin has released a rare new update to one of its recent smartwatches. Replacing software that the company distributed late last year, Firmware Version 2.26 only introduces bug fixes and a few otherwise minor improvements.

The Vivomove Trend is a hybrid smartwatch that Garmin does not update often. Specifically, the company has only released Firmware Version 2.20 and Firmware Version 2.23 in the last year. For reference, the latter arrived four months ago with minimal changes from the former, two of which were bug fixes.

Now, Garmin has finalised Firmware Version 2.26, roughly a month after the Vivomove Trend's first anniversary. While the new update is the device's first of 2024, it makes even fewer improvements than Firmware Version 2.23. Specifically, Garmin mentions two changes between Firmware Version 2.23 and Firmware Version 2.26 in its forum post:

  • Improve system stability.
  • Fixed potential wallet freeze issue.

Unfortunately, the company has not outlined the ways in which it has improved system stability. Please note that Firmware Version 2.26 has only reached 20% of eligible models at the time of writing. Thus, it could take a few more days before Garmin sends a notification to download the new update. Alternatively, you can trigger the update manually by using Garmin Express or Garmin Connect Mobile.
